Car information

Our Packard was purchased by Mrs Bond at the Melbourne Motor Show in 1940. We took ownership in 1989 from the estate of Don Field. It was in good original condition having only having a small number of previous owners. The registration number 88-111 is the original number and the plates were restored by one of the plate manufacturers apprentices. The car is built on a 122inch wheelbase and is the baby of the Packard’s models. This is a factory built right-hand drive car and has a 6-cylinder engine rated at 100 horsepower. It has an electric overdrive, which reduces the engine revolutions by 20%, making it very suitable for long distances on the road. It also boasts a power operated convertible top, and features independent front suspension, quite an advanced car for 1940. To make driving easier in my late middle age the steering and front end has just been completely rebuilt. The car is delightful to travel in and beautiful to look at, “Ask The Man & Woman Who Owns One”
