The car underwent a nut and bolt restoration that was completed a couple of years ago. This Packard was fitted with high speed crown and pinion gears inside the original differential housing and is capable of flying along the highways and freeways at 70mph without any prospect of over-revving. Magnificent car to drive on trips! Independent suspension and hydraulic brakes! I drive this Packard from Tamworth to Sydney on occasions and I can travel to Sydney in four-and-three-quarter hours! Keeps up with modern cars on the highway and tremendous torque uphills.
