Car information

I bought Big Red, as she has become to be known, sight unseen from the USA in 2007. She had 23,852 miles on the clock. Now the mileage is 77,859. That is close enough to 54,000 miles or 86,400k that we have done in her. The car was originally sold in New York and was chauffeur driven. It was then on-sold to a Mr Krantz who put the car in a museum in 1961. It remained there until I bought it. I have done a bit of mechanical work over the years, including an engine rebuild. This has allowed us to use the car as much as we do without having to think about whether she will make it or not. The best thing that I did was to fit an after-market overdrive. This has allowed us to cruise at highway speeds without over stressing the engine.
