Car information

I bought this car off fellow Packard owner Clive Carmichael in 1997. It was his “spare car” and was stored at Ballarat. He bought the car off Max Booth in1970 who purchased it circa 1959 displayed on the side of the road in Ocean Grove near Geelong. The history of the car is unknown from 1937 though to 1959, however several early Melbourne radio stations stickers on the back window would indicate it’s early home was in the Melbourne area. When I purchased the car it was surprisingly complete even down to the bits of the motor that sat in boxes where it had been dismantled for parts. However the car was in poor condition with minor damage to the panels. Restoration of the vehicle commenced in 1998 and was complete by early 2003. All efforts were made to keep the car as original as possible using local craftsmen expertise in their field. Instead of the original “battleship grey” colour I used the Packard colour Indian Maroon which I found under the tale light stanchion on my spare car when it was being dismantled. The interior is a combination of burgundy carpet with beige seats and trims and linings.
