Car information

1935 Packard Senior 8 12th Series. This Packard was purchased new by Edward Lancely as a right hand drive car for US$1990 in 1935. Lancely was the managing director of the North Shore (Sydney) Brick and Tile Company. At the outbreak of WWII, the car was put up on blocks and remained that way until the end of hostilities and petrol rationing in 1945/46. In 1972 Lancely sold the car to Arthur Davis who drove the car for the next 27 years. In 1999 the Packard was sold to Barry Brown who, from 2005 – 2008 was president of The Packard Automobile Club of Australia Inc. In 2107 the car was sold to the present owner. The vehicle retains the original Owner’s Handbook as delivered with the new car as well as the original wheelbraces.
