1962 Purchased by George Thompson, Auto Dealership, Hutt St, Adelaide SA.

1962 John Lucas Traded his Rare Model T Ford for the 1934 Packard from George Thompson. John used it as a Chauffer and Private Vehicle and travelled the country to many a Packard Rally within Australia.

Famous People that have travelled in the Packard are: Sammy Davis Jnr, Liberace, Peter Allen, Ian Chappell, Bob Francis, Andy Williams, Gregory Peck (P6 The Advertiser Nov 7 1961) and Ava Gardner.

Also used by many families as a wedding or special occasion vehicle in Adelaide.

This vehicle has been credited in the news many times since the 1960s and was displayed at the South Australian 150th Birthday Celebrations Jubilee at Victoria Park Race Course, Adelaide on New Years Eve.

Owned by John, this magnificent grand old lady was maintained by him until we bought it in 2016 in its original 82-year-old Patina. It is our pride and joy among our vehicle collection.

Our favourite aspect of the vehicle is the long, magnificent sweeping front fenders with the huge chrome bar grille, topped with its beautiful big headlights, horns and Trippe Spotlights and its fine jewellery including the goddess of speed hood ornament.
