Car information

I purchased my 1927 426 Series Packard, by complete chance, in January 2018 after running into a former customer from when I operated my mechanical business. Bill Stenson, a Coffin Bay oyster farmer and former mechanic, was telling me about his recent purchase of a 1927 426 Series Packard at the barbers and his quest to restore the vehicle. This sparked my interest and Bill then introduced me to Bob Davis from whom Bill had purchased his car. Bob had obtained a collection from a Sydney-based enthusiast, Peter Boyce. Three 426 Series had been stripped apart and had a small amount of chassis and body work done in preparation to use them as wedding cars. Bob describes this “hobby” of Packard restoration as a disease only cured by death! He wanted to make sure we were up for the challenge! It wasn’t long and I was the proud owner of my restoration project … bits and pieces, that is! Bill and I wasted no time and commenced our nuts and bolts restorations (2 heads proving to be very beneficial in tackling these projects). Two years and 6 months later I am in the final stages of completion with the upholstery and final assembly anticipated within the next 3 months.
