Car information

1927 426 Sedan.  Known as “Mr P”,  the car was originally owned by Miss Olivia Heinrich of South Australia. About 1934 she sold it to a related family, the Jericho’s, who used it as a family car from their SA Cummins property before converting it to a farm ute.

In the 1980’s, Jim Ellis recused Mr P from a pig yard and later traded the car (what there was of it) to Bob and Yvonne Davis who began a 4-year restoration. Yvonne proved a very capable worker even when highly pregnant and, later, our daughter Kymberly also “assisted“ in the latter parts of the restoration.

Returning to Cummins, parts were found even on adjoining farms. One great challenge was retrieving the rear axle/diff assembly from under a neighbour’s trailer.

A B&W photo of the Jericho family during WW 2 picnicking around Mr P and showing the original Registration SA 80-279 was enough evidence for the registrar to re issue that registration number to us on completion of the restoration.

Since then, Mr P has been a great family car. Many wonderful kiddy parties full of balloons, limousine duties for school formals, weddings for family and close friends.

A winner of Packard National Rally best car award and also a finalist at Bay to Birdwood, Mr P has driven to NSW several times also to Queensland, Victoria and throughout South Australia.
