Car information

This was the first Packard to arrive at the family farm. Bought by my grandfather Archie McKenzie in the mid-1930s, from a man who had driven it all the way down from Northern NSW looking for work during the Depression. It would have taken more than two days to drive down to Victoria. He obtained some fruit picking seasonal work but was eventually forced to sell the car so my grandfather paid him 25 pound. Dad used to service cars for his father and he found the Packard to be better built than anything else he had worked on.
